Patna: The BJP’s move to induct tainted BSP leader Babu Singh Kushwaha has not just infuriated senior party leaders and the RSS, but also allies in the NDA coalition.

Deep divisions in the NDA over the issue came to the fore on Thursday when Bihar Chief Minister and JD (U) leader Nitish Kumar described the induction of Kushwaha, who is facing corruption charges, as a “wrong tradition” started by the BJP.

Kumar said there were internal differences within the BJP over Kushwaha’s entry into the party, which has been campaigning against corruption.

Further, in the wake of BJP and JD (U) failing to cobble up an alliance for Uttar Pradesh polls, Kumar said it was not necessary to have alliance with the BJP in all states.

It may be noted that the two parties run a coalition government in Bihar.

Kumar further said he would campaign in UP for the upcoming polls.
