Bhopal: Senior BJP leader and former
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Sunderlal Patwa said here on Saturday
that although there might be some rumblings within the party
at the highest level, they will fail to have any impact on it.

Addressing reporters at the State BJP office, Patwa
said that he was saying this because the leaders did not
matter much but workers played a key role.
The senior BJP leader said that party workers were its
backbone and they alone were responsible for the rise of the
party since its Janasangh days in 1951.

The party had grown in strength and in the last 58
years had managed to attain the status of the biggest
political party in the country, he said.

The senior BJP leader said that all this had become
possible only due to the commitment of the workers who remain
unfazed by goings-on at the top level.
"Only a handful of the BJP leaders indulged in issuing
statements which may not be good for the party," Patwa said.

He said that sometimes these leaders slipped their
tongue and this caused confusion which was necessary to
dispel.
