Kolkata: Opposition Left Front on Friday
expressed shock at the loss of over 70 lives in the fire at
AMRI hospital in the city and demanded a detailed inquiry into
the incident.
Demanding compensation to the families of the deceased
and also the injured, LF chairman Biman Bose said the state
government should be more prompt in combatting the situation
and speed up rescue operations.
''I cannot recall such a devastating fire in the city
in the recent past. Our condolences to the bereaved
families'', he said.
