Jaipur: BJP General Secretary and former
Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje today rubbished the
reports linking an RSS activist with the 2007 Ajmer dargarh
blast and claimed these allegations were politically
motivated.

"I dismiss the allegations which are totally politically
motivated. It takes times to crack any case. I had gone to the
site immediately after the blast and we controlled the
situation," Raje said in a statement here.

"Though it was our government in the state, they
(Congress) were in power at the Centre at that time. And why
those, who are accusing us now, kept quiet for the past 17
months when they are ruling the state?" she asked.

"There is conspiracy to tarnish the image of RSS by
linking arrested suspected persons to it," the BJP leader
said.

Raje alleged that the Centre and the Rajasthan
government had failed to take effective steps to root out
terrorism and now were trying to divert people`s attention by
making such allegations.

"Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat governments are also being
linked with this issue, which is also politically motivated
and absolutely wrong," she said.

Two pilgrims were killed and nine others, including a
child, were injured in the terror attack when a crude bomb
went off at the sufi shrine of Khawaja Moinuddhin Chishti in
Ajmer on October 12, 2007.
