New Delhi: Lok Sabha members across political divide on Monday expressed concern over the plight of minority Hindus in Pakistan and urged the government to spell out what action it has taken in the matter.

Bharatiya Janata Party member Rajnath Singh raised the issue during zero hour and demanded the Lok Sabha should pass a resolution condemning the reported incidents against religious conversion and forced marriages of Hindu girls in Pakistan.

"The Hindus and Sikhs are unsafe in Pakistan. Their persecution is condemnable," said Singh.

"Many Hindus who have come to India have said that their government is not doing anything," he said.

Samajwadi Party president Mulayam Singh Yadav said the house should debate the issue and the government should tell what action it has taken in the matter so far.

"Such incidents should not be reciprocated in India. The government should tell what action it has taken so far. Let the house debate it," said Yadav.

He quoted late prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru and said that persecution of minorities anywhere was a crime against humanity.

Biju Janata Dal member Bhartruhari Mahtab said the government should welcome the Hindus migrating from Pakistan and allow them to settle here.

"Hindus coming to India have narrated that the Pakistan state is a mute spectator to the plight of its minorities," said Mahtab.

"Hindus should be welcome to settle here," Mahtab said.

About 250 Pakistani Hindus recently moved to India after promising authorities there that they will return after their pilgrimage. Many of them complained of ill-treatment and persecution in Pakistan.

TRULY INDIAN - Kuwait
Very Good- India/Pakistan/Bangladesh was one country before partition and it were parted later. The Hindus from PAKISTAN comes to INDIA and says they are unsafe and all media covers them continously for 2 days and today there is a debate in parliament. And there were few immigrants in ASSAM who were killed and whole ASSAM burns no media or Government concerns.VERY GOOD POLITICIANS.
