Indore: Prashant Bhushan, eminent lawyer and a member of the Lokpal Bill drafting committee, on Saturday said that the proposed anti-graft legislation should cover judiciary too.

"Judiciary should come under the Lokpal legislation's ambit. Some people in the judiciary are averse to this and want that Lokpal should have no role in probing corruption charges against judges," Bhushan, who was in the town today, told reporters.

"The Lokpal could even be empowered to remove the judges for misconduct. However, such provision is not in the proposed bill right now. This issue might be discussed in future," Bhushan said.

He said that the proposed bill had a provision of petitioning the Supreme Court against Lokpal.

"We are going to propose that the corruption complaints against the machinery below the Lokpal be probed by independent authorities, which would be in no way connected to the Lokpal or the government," he said.

Asked about the recent allegations against him and his father with regard allotment of a plot, Bhushan refused to comment.

The nation is emanding for Lokpal Bill with the simple aim that the highest authorities, ministers and all such persons, if found indulging in corruption and crime, can be probed and prosecuted without seeking permission from any government authority. It is very clear that the country is being looted by the ministers and top govt. authorities and it has been made possible because the govt. has made it mandatory to obtain prior permission to Initiate probe and prosecution which they never give for traitors who regularly give them the lion`s share.

The suggestion of this once reputed legal luminary would be laughable were it for the serious impications of such a stupid and down right dangerous idea. The is a sorry attempt at creating a Frankestein and I fail to understand why this absolutely inane conept is even entertained. It would make judiciary subservient to thewhims of a person who would become a virtal dicatator
