Lt Gen Kakria takes over as DG Army Medical Services

Lieutenant General H L Kakria today took over as the new Director General of Medical Services (Army) here.

New Delhi: Lieutenant General H L Kakria
today took over as the new Director General of Medical
Services (Army) here.

He replaces Lt Gen S R Mehta, who retired.

An undergraduate and Post Graduate teacher and Examiner
of MS (Orthopaedics), Pune University Lt Gen Kakria has also
been a teacher and examiner, DNB (Orthopaedics) National Board
of Examination, here, an official release said.

During his illustrious 38 years of service career, he
has numerous research papers on Orthopaedics in different
National and International journals. He received the Major
General Amir Chand award in 1990 for best research work done
on knee joint injuries.

He is also an Executive Member of Bone and Joint Decade
(BJD) 2000-2010.

For his unflinching dedication to the service, he was
awarded Army Commander (Southern Command) Commendation-1988,

Vishisht Seva Medal-1992, Chief of Army Staff
Commendation-1993, Vishisht Seva Medal Bar-2002 and Ati
Vishisht Seva Medal-2009.
