Major fire at building near India House in UK

London: Six fire engines are battling a
major blaze on Tuesday in a building under refurbishment at
Aldwych, next to the India House here.

Heavy smoke from the two top floors of the building
forced evacuation of people from the nearby establishments and
diversion of the traffic in the area.

The London Fire Brigade has confirmed that six fire
tenders are trying to douse the inferno at a building under
refurbishment on The Strand, WC2. Part of the building roof is
alight.

Fire engines were dispatched at 1106 hours. More Fire
engines and personnel are being dispatched to combat the
blaze.

The fire has forced some roads to be closed and smoke
clouds could be seen across the London skyline.
