Malaysia to give "visa-free transit" to Indians

In a bid to attract more tourists, Malaysia today said it will provide Indian nationals a "visa-free transit" facility beginning on July 1 this year.

Kuala Lumpur: In a bid to attract more
tourists, Malaysia today said it will provide Indian nationals
a "visa-free transit" facility beginning on July 1 this year.

This facility will also be extended to nationals from
South Asian countries of Bangladesh, Pakistan and Sri Lanka,
an immigration department statement said, adding that the
government expected 650,000 tourists this year.

The visa free transit has been introduced to attract
more tourists from the four countries this year, online Star
newspaper said.
