Mamata agrees to attend UPA meet after PM’s call

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today called up Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee after which the key UPA ally decided to attend a meeting of the ruling coalition in Delhi on July 14.

Kolkata: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today called up Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee after which the key UPA ally decided to attend a meeting of the ruling coalition in Delhi on July 14.

"Prime Minister talked to Mamata Banerjee over phone," party Rajya Sabha MP Kunal Ghosh told PTI from North Bengal.

Banerjee has asked Railway Minister Mukul Roy to attend the UPA meeting on Saturday, he said.

Trinamool Congress had earlier said that Banerjee would announce the party`s decision on the presidential poll three days ahead of the election on July 19.
