New Delhi: Congress spokesperson Manish Tewari on Thursday regretted his remarks against civil rights activist Anna Hazare.

"I know some of my recent utterances have hurt Mr Hazare. I regret the same and I would like to appeal to him as a citizen of this country to end his fast," Tewari said here.

"In the course of political cut and thrust, certain things are inadvertently said which cause pain," he said.

I am concerned about his health, added Tewari, who had levelled allegations against Hazare.

In a scathing attack on Hazare, Tewari had on August 14 alleged that Justice PB Sawant Commission report had ripped apart the "moral core" of the activist as it "found him steeped in corruption from head to toe".

He had also alleged that Team Anna comprised "armchair fascists, overground Maoists, closet anarchists funded by invisible donors".

A petition has been filed in a local court accusing Tewari of "defaming" activist Anna Hazare and hurting the sentiments of Gandhians in the country.

Also, with bouquets and flowers, protesters thronged Tewari's residence in Sarabha Nagar on Tuesday.

it was very shameful on tiwari`s part in blaiming annaji. i think he can not see light of honest and non-corrupt annaji. it is very difficult to find a person in india like annaji who has given-up his life in the interest of our nation and a people of his village. if we have atleast one porson like annaji in every taluka, we can change our country within reach of our financial ability. after knowing much more about him and his social work, i salute this man feel proud of having such a personality before me.

to say sorry is a good mistake? often, in establishing your righteousness, you are insensitive to others feelings. when someone is hurt, arguing with them and establishing your righteousness will be in vain. by saying a simple ``sorry``, you can uplift the other and take away the bitterness. in many situations saying ``sorry`` is better than establishing your righteousness. . it can avert much unpleasantness. this one word of five letters, when said sincerely can remove anger, guilt, hatred and distance .many people feel pride in hearing ``sorry`` from others. this boosts their ego. but when you say ``sorry`` to a wise man, it evokes compassion at your ignorance. however, when you say ``sorry`` to your guru, he will get angry and say, ``go! listen to ashtavakra!`` for your saying ``sorry`` indicates doer ship. you feel that you have made a mistake. a mistake is part of an unconscious mind. an unconscious mind cannot do right. a conscious mind can do no wrong.the mind which makes the mistake and the mind which realizes the mistake - saying ``sorry`` - are entirely different, aren’t they? the mind which says ``sorry`` cannot be an unconscious mind. therefore, saying ``sorry`` sincerely is a big mistake!!! did you get it or are you confused? if you didn`t get it, don`t feel sorry or you can feel sorry!! how strange - truth is paradoxical
