Matri Shree Awards announced

New Delhi, May 02: Anasuya Roy of NDTV, Manish Pandey of the Times of India, Jitesh Wadhawan of PTI and Naresh Kaushik of PTI Bhasha are among the journalists chosen for the 29th Matri Shree media awards announced here today.

Naresh Kaushik of PTI Bhasha are among the journalists chosen
for the 29th Matri Shree media awards announced here today.

R K Saxena (UNI Varta), Javed Akhtar (UNI Urdu
service), Faizal Khan (UNI), Zia-us-Salam (film critic, the
Hindu), Trideeb Raman (Punjab Kesri), Rajesh Upadhyaya (Dainik
Bhaskar), Rakesh Shukla (Rajasthan Patrika), Ashish Bhargava
(Dainik Hindustan), Pratibha Shukla (Jansatta), Neerja
Chaturvedi (Doordarshan) and Ravi Sharma (Aaj Tak) are among
the other winners of the annual award, award committee
convener Dinesh Sharma said in a release.

The awards would be presented by former Rajasthan
Governor Madan Lal Khurana at a function here on May 8, to be
presided over by Uday Sinha, Executive Editor of 'Dainik
Bhaskar', he said.

Other winners of the Matri Shree media awards-2005 are
Rajesh Upadhyaya (Dainik Bhaskar), Chandraprakash Kamat
(Navbharat Times), Shailesh Seth (cameraman - Star News),
Surender Mandral (cameraman - Zee News), Ritu Rajput (AIR),
H C Tiwari (chief photographer - The Hindustan Times), Manoj
Verma (India Today), C N Rao (chief photographer - Eenadu),
Shyam Sundar (Dainik Jagran) and Indrajeet Tanwar (Rashtriya
Sahara), he said.

While Amitabh Bachchan-Rani Mukherjee starrer 'Black'
has been adjudged best movie of the year, Satish Makhija and
Subhash Sachdeva have been selected for the award in the
medical services and social service category respectively,
Sharma said.

The awards were instituted in 1979.
