Imphal: Opposition leader in Manipur assembly I Ibohalbi of Trinamool Congress has claimed that he got threatening calls from a militant outfit demanding percentage cut in the public distribution items. He said they want cut on items in his constituency at Oinam in Bishenpur district.

Sources said on Saturday that a militant outfit demanded percentage of the public distribution items such as rice meant for the poor people in his constituency a few days back.
Ibohalbi refused to give any percentage of the public distribution items to the militant outfit who threatened to attack him anytime, sources said.

Official sources said authorities concerned have met the opposition leader over the issue and the matter was being looked into. Sources close to Ibohalbi refused to name the militant outfit who threatened the opposition leader.
Official sources confirmed that different militant outfits interfered into the distribution of public items such as rice, kerosene and others at different assembly constituencies.

Whenever proper complaint was received, action was taken to prevent interference of militants in the distribution of public items, sources said.
