Military hospitals will be modernised in phased manner: Antony
All military hospitals in the country would be modernised in a phased manner to bring them at par with some of the best hospitals in the country, Defence Minister A K Antony said on Monday.

country would be modernised in a phased manner to bring them
at par with some of the best hospitals in the country, Defence
Minister A K Antony said on Monday.
"There would be no fund constraints for modernisation
of the military hospitals and all hospitals will be modernised
at par with the best hospitals in the country in a phased
manner," he said, while awarding trophies to best military
hospitals in the country.
Expressing satisfaction over military hospitals making
use of the budgetary allocation of Rs 90 crore in this fiscal,
Antony said the ministry has approved the proposal for the
modernisation of the Military Nursing Service which would soon
be examined by the Cabinet.
The Mumbai-based naval hospital INHS Asvini was
conferred the Raksha Mantri`s Trophy for best command hospital
for the year 2010.

Monga recived the trophy and a cash prize of Rs 10 lakh.
Major General SS Pawar- the commandant of the Pune-based
Southern Command Hospital- received the trophy for second best
command hospital and a cash prize of Rs three Lakh.
The Best Command Hospital Trophy is being awarded
since 1989 and the Second Best Hospital Trophy was introduced
