Model Code of Conduct withdrawn

The strict Model Code of Conduct which came into force from March 1 was withdrawn by the Election Commission following completion of the election process in five states.

New Delhi: The strict Model Code of Conduct
which came into force from March 1 was withdrawn by the
Election Commission on Saturday following completion of the election
process in five states.
"With the declaration of results of Assembly elections in
Assam, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal and Puducherry on May
13, the Commission has decided that Model Code of Conduct
stands withdrawn today with immediate effect," an EC press
note said.
A six-phased Assembly polls in West Bengal, a two stage
poll in Assam and a single day poll in Tamil Nadu, Kerala and
Puducherry were today announced by the EC on March 1.
