New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold bilateral talks with Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on September 27 in New York on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.

Announcing that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will meet Hasina on the margins of the UNGA which will be their first bilateral meeting, External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin, however, did not give the date for the interaction between the two leaders.

The Prime Minister had invited Hasina for his swearing-in ceremony May 26 but the Bangladeshi leader was travelling that time and could not attend the event.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh Foreign Minister Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali, who is here for a JCC, extended an invitation on behalf of Hasina to the Prime Minister to visit Bangladesh to which Modi said that he looked forward to visiting Bangladesh at the earliest convenience.
