New Delhi: Law Minister M Veerappa Moily, who
is a Congress MP from Karnataka, has requested Railway
Minister Mamata Banerjee to add several long-pending projects
of the state in the next Railway Budget.
In a letter written to Banerjee, Moily has requested
her to add projects like survey of railway lines, more funds
for ongoing surveys, gauge conversions and introduction of new
trains in Railway Budget 2010-2011.
Moily, who represents the Chikkballapur constituency in
the Lok Sabha, has also requested her Cabinet colleague to
increase the frequency of certain trains and extension of some
other trains to help the general public.
Moily also requested Banerjee to announce Yelhanka,
Devanhalli, Chikkballapur, Gowribidanur and Doddaballarpur
railway stations as 'model' railway stations in the budget.
