New Delhi: Law Minister M Veerappa Moily, who is a Congress MP from Karnataka, has requested Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee to add several long-pending projects of the state in the next Railway Budget.

In a letter written to Banerjee, Moily has requested her to add projects like survey of railway lines, more funds for ongoing surveys, gauge conversions and introduction of new trains in Railway Budget 2010-2011.

Moily, who represents the Chikkballapur constituency in the Lok Sabha, has also requested her Cabinet colleague to increase the frequency of certain trains and extension of some other trains to help the general public.

Moily also requested Banerjee to announce Yelhanka, Devanhalli, Chikkballapur, Gowribidanur and Doddaballarpur railway stations as 'model' railway stations in the budget.
