New Delhi: As the Monsoon continues to elude large parts of the country, northwest India has been worst hit, receiving 63 percent less rainfall than normal.
Except east and northeast India, which had 57 percent above normal rainfall, all the regions witnessed deficit of rain, said India Meteorological Department in a statement.
According to the statement, the country as a whole received less than 18 percent of normal rainfall till June 27.
However, the IMD said that in the coming week northwest India will see isolated rainfall which will increase considerably in the latter half of the week.
The same forecast has been given for central India.
