New Delhi: Elaborate arrangements are being
made by the Delhi Catholic Church to celebrate the 100th birth
anniversary of Mother Teresa in the national capital.
Several Committees have already been formed to make
proper arrangements to celebrate the occasion on a "grand
scale" on August 26.
Mother Teresa was born in Skopje in Albania on August
"Mother Teresa is not just a Catholic saint. She is
venerated and held in high esteem internationally but more
especially in India and so it is appropriate to celebrate her
birth anniversary on a grand scale," said Archbishop of Delhi,
Archbishop Vincent M Concessao.
The organisers said various suggestions like requesting
the authorities to name one of the Metro stations after Mother
Teresa and installation of a statue of her on Mother Teresa
Crescent have come up.
