MP blames flight timing for missing Question Hour

After Railways, airlines has now been blamed for MPs not reaching Parliament in time.

New Delhi: After Railways, airlines has now
been blamed for MPs not reaching Parliament in time.

BJP MP Nand Kishore Sai, who was not there during the
Question Hour in Rajya Sabha today despite his query being
listed, demanded change in the flight timings to prevent
absenteeism in the House.

"The flight timing should be a bit early in the morning
from Raipur so that we can reach Parliament well before time,"
Sai told reporters.

Earlier, a few MPs had blamed Railways for late running
of trains, saying this resulted in them not reaching
Parliament in time.

Sai said, "I had gone to my constituency as civic polls
are underway there. For us, these polls are very important."

However, the BJP MP said, "It is unfortunate to miss the
Question Hour and it will not happen again."

Six members were not present in the House today though
their questions were listed.

Congress MP Rajiv Shukla, who was also missing, said "I
was very much in Parliament and I was late for just a minute
as I had gone to the Central Hall on official work."

Shukla said, "Rules are going to be amended so that
another MP can raise the same question if the MP listed for it
is not present in the House."
