New Delhi: A parliamentary committee has
voiced concern that the Ministry of Statistics and Programme
Implementaion has taken no steps for translation of MPLAD
scheme guidelines into regional languages.
"Translation of guidelines in regional languages is
imperative as many state governments conduct their work in
their respective regional languages," Committee on Members of
Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS) said in its
report presented in Lok Sabha today.
The Committee has recommended that the Ministry should
make arrangements for translation of the MPLADS guidelines
into various regional languages in consultation with the nodal
departments of states.
"Translated version of the guidelines should be
distributed to the district authorities and the implementing
agencies," the Committee chaired by AKS Vijayan said.
