New Delhi: A strong plea for immediate intervention by the Government to stop deportation of some 5,000 Indian youth from Spain was made in Parliament Monday.
Raising the issue during Zero Hour in the Lok Sabha, Ravneet Singh (Congress) said the Government should act fast to give the youth, most of them from Punjab, police clearance
certificate immediately.

In the Rajya Sabha, Avtar Singh Karimpuri (BSP) said these certificates are necessary for permanent immigration purposes.

Karimpuri said these youth have been forced to launch a hunger strike in front of Indian embassy in Madrid.

These youth are earning their livelihood in Spain by working in hotel industry, farms and piggeries.
