New Delhi: MPs have been told to behave in a dignified manner during President Barack Obama's address to the joint sitting of Parliament on Monday.

The advisory has been sent by the Parliament Affairs Ministry to leaders of parliamentary parties to ensure that there is decorum and dignity of the institution is maintained.

Several MPs had jumped over benches and jostled to reach President Bill Clinton and shake hands with him when he arrived to address the joint sitting of Parliament in March, 2000. Their behaviour had drawn criticism.

Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar is against issuing such instructions to the MPs, "who are mature enough to behave". The Speaker watched a video on Clinton's visit.

BJP MP Arjun Ram Meghwal said the advisory had been issued by the ministry.

Obama will address the two Houses of Parliament's joint sitting in the Central Hall of Parliament House tomorrow evening.

it is not unusual as we have elected lots of rotton people in the parliament what ever may be the reason we need to first set a standard of education and training for the mps if we have to take a solid position then disipline in society is must which is lacking in our society there fore how we can expect mps will behave properly during meeting with foreign dignitries
