Mumbai blast case convict dies in Pune jail hospital

A convict in the 1993 Mumbai blasts case, lodged at the Yeravada prison here, died in the jail hospital following illness, officials said.

Pune: A convict in the 1993 Mumbai blasts case, lodged at the Yeravada prison here, died in the jail hospital following illness, officials said.

Mohammed Pavale, who was suffering from pulmonary hypertension and undergoing treatment following complaint of breathlessness, died last night, they said.

The 50-year-old convict, who hailed from Mumbai, was serving life sentence for his involvement in the bomb blasts that took place near Shiv Sena Bhawan and Air India building on March 12, 1993.
He had earlier also been treated for his ailment in the government Sassoon Hospital for a week and brought back to the jail on September 1, officials added.
