Mumbai: Mumbai would soon have a world class
Innovation Park, where 25,000 scientific experts from over 100
countries will work.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan has given nod to
set up a world class Innovation Park in Mumbai, an official
release said, adding the Mumbai Metropolitan Region
Development Authority (MMRDA) will set up the park.
The Innovation Park will have a research and development
centre where 25,000 scientific experts from over 100 countries
will work. The Park will enhance the gross domestic production
of the country and will create nearly one lakh jobs
This is an important step to strengthen economic position
of Mumbai Metropolitan Region and to generate more employment,
the release said.
The Park will have Pharma, Bio-Technology Functional
Food, Bio-Polymer Micro Electronics, Embedded System, Water
Technology, Clean Technology, Energy, Fuel Cell, Digital Media
and Health Sectors.
The Park also will have an International Convention
Centre, International Research Centre, Business Incubator,
Design Institute and Language Centre.
Maharashtra will become an important global destination
for scientific conventions. In next three to five years, it
