New Delhi: The inclusion of Sanjeev Baliyan, an accused in the Muzaffarnagar riots case, in Narendra Modi`s Cabinet has raised eyebrows.

Baliyan is the new Union Minister of State for Agriculture.
Hitting out at the NDA, Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh on Wednesday asked if the allotment of a portfolio to the Muzaffarnagar riots accused meant anything.

The communal riots in Muzaffarnagar, a town in western Uttar Pradesh known for its sugar produce, drew national attention with most political parties slamming the state government for its inept handling of the situation. The riots left 63 dead and thousands homeless.
