New Delhi: There was an improvement in the condition of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi who is suffering from swine flu, which claimed two more lives elsewhere in the country on Monday.

An official bulletin released in Ahmedabad said there was a speedy improvement in Modi's health. "However, Modi may be kept in isolation at his residence for some more days," it said.

The 59-year-old BJP leader had complained of cough, fever and body ache on Friday last after his return from Russia and tested positive for swine flu the same day.

The two deaths were reported from Karnataka and Maharashtra. Sixty Seven fresh cases of the pandemic were reported nationwide including 21 in Kerala, 13 in Delhi and 18 in Maharashtra, health officials said.

In Orissa, two tribal girls tested positive for swine flu in the state's Sundargarh district.

Swab samples of the girls, aged 13 and 7 years, had been sent to the Regional Medical Research Centre here, which tested positive for H1N1 virus.

The girls, students of the Government Girls' High School at Jamapalli village, were among the over 200 students who had undergone treatment for fever, cold and sore throat since October 28, they said.
