New Delhi: Crediting the emergence of Bharatiya Janata Party`s prime ministerial candidate, Narendra Modi, for the party`s 4-0 lead in assembly elections, BJP president Rajnath Singh congratulated party workers and senior leaders on Sunday.
“There has been Modi`s effect even in the Assembly elections,” said Singh.
BJP, he said, wasn`t the biggest benefactor of the anti-incumbency wave, and opined, “The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has benefited most the anti-incumbency wave.”
He parried questions on the vote percentage BJP got in the four states as "the final results are yet to be announced."
Maintaining that Shivraj Singh Chauhan will once again head the BJP government in Madhya Pradesh, Singh said the party has nominated observers in the states that went to polls to oversee the election of the legislative party leaders.
“I congratulate the BJP`s chief ministers and chief ministerial candidates. I thank the booth level workers,” he added.
“I want to clarify that in all the four states (Delhi, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh) BJP will form government,” he said while signing off.
