Mumbai: As the news of David Coleman Headley
pleading guilty for Mumbai attacks splashed across newspapers,
filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt's son Rahul got "nauseated" with the
thought of being in the company of American "devil" whom he
calls "double agent of USA".
28-year old Bhatt, who had known Headley during his stay
in Mumbai, said, "I am nauseated by the very thought that I
had run into Devil himself."
Bhatt, a budding actor, said that during his conversations
with Headley there was no chance that he could have been
doubted of having had any terror links.
"Not in my wildest dreams could I imagine that this white
American is a modern day Jackal. He should have been given a
death sentence for engineering the murder of innocent men,
women and children. Undoubtedly David Headley was a double
agent of the USA," Bhatt told PTI over phone.
A nutritionist and fitness professional, Bhatt came in
contact with Headley at his gym and has earlier said that
incident shook him and he had lost faith in everyone.
Bhatt, who has been questioned more than twice by National
Investigation Agency, probing the role of Headley and his
Pakistani-Canadian associate Tahawwur Rana, said Headley had
called him a month after the 26/11 attack.
To a question about his association with Headley, Bhatt
said, "Did I know Headley? The answer is a yes and a no. The
David Headley that I knew then was a different man and the
David who has now emerged now is a different man...The
absolute monster."
"My father was making a film on terrorism and I was
getting an American perspective from him (Headley)," he said.
Headley, who was arrested by Joint Terrorism Task Force of
FBI in Chicago in October three last year pleaded guilty
before a US court yesterday on all counts of charges pressed
against him including his involvement in 26/11 Mumbai terror
attack conspiracy.
