Dehradun: The visit of veteran Congress
leader ND Tiwari to the NCP office here on Sunday raised eyebrows
in political circles amid speculation about his future moves.

Tiwari visited the NCP`s state office and participated
in a discussion on the issues related to the development of
Uttarakhand.

The 85-year-old leader spent nearly half-an-hour with
the NCP leaders where he called upon all political parties to
unite and cooperate for the development of the state.

However, Tiwari`s personal secretary Sanjay Joshi, when
contacted, dismissed the speculation, saying the Congress
leader had risen above party politics and was concerned about
the issues concerning the state.

Tiwari went to the NCP office as he was invited by Divya
Nautiyal, an NCP leader and son of his close friend Shivanand
Nautiyal, to attend the discussion, Joshi said, adding no
politics should be seen in his visit.

Tiwari had also surprised many by sharing the dais with
BJP President Nitin Gadkari during a state government function
here on February 11.

The senior Congress leader is staying in Dehradun ever
since he quit as Andhra Pradesh Governor following his alleged
involvement in a sex scandal in December 2009.
