New Delhi: Seeking a change in legislations related to crimes against women, JD(U) chief Sharad Yadav today voiced concern on the quantum of punishment given to
former Haryana DGP S P S Rathore in the Ruchika molestation case.
"The six months of rigorous imprisonment sentence handed over to former Haryana DGP S P S Rathore, is too less and the fact that the girl`s family had to leave Panchkula after her brother was reportedly harassed by the authorities, was shameful, Yadav told reporters here.
"There should be changes made in the legislations, especially those related to crime against women. The way the former DGP was reacting after being sentenced looked like he was not bothered about any action against him. He should be sentenced in retrospect. Court should give its ruling again as it is an exceptional case," he said.
