Rajkot: An international heath expert has
stressed the need to improve emergency medical services in
India.

It`s very necessary to create awareness among the
people about emergency medicine. After the recent advances in
the field of emergency medicine, it can play an important role
in disaster management, Richar Wolfe said.

He was addressing doctors of Saurasthra region at a
seminar here yesterday.

Emphasising on the concept of `golden hour`, he said
prompt medical assistance after an accident or disaster has
saved thousands of lives.

Wolfe, who has been working since the past 15 years in
emergency medicine, is an advisor to many colleges, including
Harvard Medical School (HMS).
