Kathmandu: Facing intense criticism over his alleged remarks that Nepal may be merged with either India or China if its peace process failed, Premier Baburam Bhattarai on Thursday asserted that he had not made any such statement.

Addressing Parliament, Bhattarai of UCPN-Maoist party said that "no one can weaken the national independence."

The Prime Minister also claimed that significant achievements have been made in the country's peace process.

Bhattarai was responding to the opposition parties' questions over his alleged statement last week that Nepal may be merged with either India or China if its peace process failed.

Bhattarai clarified that he had not made any such statement.

Nepal will soon be annexed by China and we our Indian government will be turning a blind eye, like they did when China annexed Tibet. We already have a anti Indian government in Nepal, its just a matter of time before Chinese nuclear tipped missiles are placed in Nepal. Its high time for India to shelve its pacifist attitute and take a strong position against China. Its time for India to modernise and strengthen its military.
