NIA IG in Modasa to review blast probe status

An Inspector General of the National Investigation Team (NIA), Sunday reached Modasa in Sabarkantha to review the investigation into the 2008 blast which killed one person, police said.

General of the National Investigation Team (NIA), Sunday
reached Modasa in Sabarkantha to review the investigation into
the 2008 blast which killed one person, police said.

NIA IG (investigations) Sanjeev Kumar Singh, who is
supervising the probe into the Modasa blast case, met with
district police officials and other members of the NIA who
have been camping here since last week, they said.

Deputy Inspector General (DIG) R P Meena of NIA, who is
heading the probe in the Modasa blast, has been staying in
Modasa with two other officials of the agency.

Sources in the police said that Singh would be in
Gujarat for the next 3-4 days.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) K K Mysorewala,
who was the investigating officer of the 2008 blast case, said
the district police has already handed over the documents
related to the case to NIA which has taken over the
investigation last month.

"They have been given all the documents that we had
collected. The NIA team was doing primary investigation at
their level," Mysorewala said.

A low intensity blast in the Suka Bazar area of Modasa
town of Sabarkantha district had killed a 15-year-old boy and
injured 10 people on September 29, 2008. Nobody has been
arrested in this case.
