A suspected swine flu patient, who was an inmate of
Yeravada Central Jail near Pune, also died in a government
hospital leading to scare and use of disinfectants in the
prison premises. His tests results are yet to come.

Out of the nine deaths, four were reported from
Maharashtra, three from Karnataka and two from Andhra Pradesh.

Delhi topped the list of those afflicted with the
disease today with 103 cases followed by Andhra Pradesh with
43 cases and Tamil Nadu 34.

Meanwhile, Hyderabad-based Pharma company today
launched an anti-swine flu drug, which will be available to
only those pharmacies which have Schedule X license.

The drug called `Natflu` similar to Tamiflu will be
supplied by Hyderabad-based Natco Pharma Limited across the
country through licensed retail pharma outlets.

112 dead in Maharashtra

A total of 112 persons have died
of swine flu so far in Maharashtra, a health official said
on Thursday.

Till date, 8,02,584 people have been examined for H1N1
virus and 37,601 suspected patients have been administered
Tamiflu, Additional Chief Secretary (public health) Sharvaree
Gokhale said.

Of the 2,975 persons who have tested positive for the
influenza, 2,758 have been discharged after treatment, she
said.

Altogether 380 persons, including 102 positive and 278
suspected cases, are still undergoing treatment at various
hospitals in the state, she added.
