Hailing the Allahabad High Court decision for exonerating Moninder Singh Pandher in one of the Nithari serial killing cases, his son Karandeep on Friday said that he was relieved by the judgement.

New Delhi: Hailing the Allahabad High Court
decision for exonerating Moninder Singh Pandher in one of the
Nithari serial killing cases, his son Karandeep on Friday said
that he was relieved by the judgement.

"I am relieved. The High Court has given the right
decision in our favour. We thank them," he told a news agency on phone
from Allahabad.

Noida-based businessman Moninder Singh Pandher,55, was
today acquitted by the Court which, however, upheld the death
sentence awarded to his 33-year-old domestic help Surinder
Koli by the special CBI court in Ghaziabad.

The court, on February 13 this year, had awarded death
sentence to both Pandher and Koli in connection with the rape
and murder of 14-year-old Rimpa Haldar. Karandeep then moved
to the Allahabad High Court.

Karandeep said: We had faith in the judiciary. Despite
the lower court decision, we continue to fight and at last the
truth prevailed.

"We expect the same results in other cases too and based
on today`s decision, we will decide our future course of
actions in other cases,"he said.

The abduction, rape and murder of Rimpa Haldar took
place on February 8, 2005.
