Nitish opposes BJP`s `yatra`

Bihar CM said it has "no meaning" given the kind of tension prevailing in Kashmir Valley.

Patna: BJP ally and Bihar Chief Minister
Nitish Kumar on Monday opposed the party`s plan to hoist the
national flag in Sringar saying it has "no meaning" given the
kind of tension prevailing in Kashmir Valley.

"Given the kind of tension that is prevailing in the
valley, this yatra (Rashtriya Ekta Yatra) has no meaning and I
don`t support this", Kumar said when asked about his views on
BJP`s plan.

Though it is "an internal matter of BJP, I am opposed
to the plans. My party President has also been speaking about
it", Kumar said after participating in a function organised to
mark the 87th birth anniversary of Jan Nayak Karpoori Thakur.
