No evidence against Ruchika's molester: CBI

Ambala: The CBI on Wednesday said it had found no evidence to support the allegations made by Ruchika Girhotra's family against former Harayana Police Chief S P S Rathore, at present serving 18-month jail sentence for molesting the teenager in 1990, and filed a closure report in a court here.

The CBI gave a point-by-point rebuttal to all eight charges made by Ruchika's father S C Girhotra and four allegations made by her brother Ashu who claimed that he was taken home in a semi-nude condition and that false cases were slapped on him about auto-theft at behest of Rathore.

As the CBI filed the closure report saying the allegations levelled by the duo against Rathore were unfounded and baseless, the court issued notices to Girhotra and Ashu.

In the first case, the father had alleged in his complaint to the police that after his daughter consumed poison on December 28, 1993, 3 years after the 14-year-old was molested, he was forced by Rathore, who was the then Inspector General (Telecom), to take her to PGI hospital at Chandigarh and during the postmortem, the magistrate was not called by the police.

In its report, the CBI claimed that the allegations could not be substantiated "as per the documentary evidence and oral testimony of witnesses".

"The probe disclosed that Ruchika had consumed poison in the morning of December 28, 1993 at her home in Panchkula and that she was taken to PGI hospital by Girhotra and his second wife Veena of their own," the closure report said.

The CBI claimed that the victim was first taken to a nursing home at Sector-8 in Panchkula by her father and stepmother from where she was referred to PGI as the general hospital in the area was undergoing construction.

At PGI Chandigarh, the name of Ruchika was mentioned as "Ruby" by her father and during investigation, the CBI claimed that this was her nickname, a finding which has also been corroborated by other family members.

Girhotra had claimed in his complaint that Rathore, whose sentenced was enhanced from six months to 18 months by a Sessions Court on May 25, 2010 for molesting Ruchika, that her body was not released by the hospital authority and that he spent the whole night outside mortuary.

However, the CBI recorded statements of some of relatives of Girhotra who said that the father returned home after the doctors informed him about the death and that the body would be released the next day only.

On the alleged false cases against Ashu, the CBI claimed to have found during investigation that his name had been revealed by one of his alleged accomplices -- Sandeep Verma.

Case Buladegi India (CBI) Corrupt Bureau of India
As per me way back since sukh ram sharma case to present Rathore case
India govt. is spend lot of money on CBI . around major 20-30 cases will be their.
But as per my knowledge CBI is unable to prosecute even a single culprit.
Why we should not ban CBI.
If we discuse any of these investigation with some half mind person , he will simply give judgement that all are guilty . But CBI will say Pay my price & all charges will be remeoved.

Evidently, CBI has become ive in cases where accused are rich and influential. This is the reason why India is being rated amongst the most corrupt nations in the world. Such people seem to enjoy immunity from all sorts of wrong doings. They commit crimes with such impunity which would even shame a ruthless dictator.

What I feel, CBI was so much in polytical pressure that it did not even bother to consider/see the facts on which court had sentenced Rathore. Haryana has cong. govt and center has Cong govt...what more you need.

If you see the trend of CBI investigation, in congress related state/person, they dont find them guilty(1984 riot Sajjan singh and Titler) and at the same time, CBI investigating in non-congress ruled/related state cases, they quickly find them guilty(In Gujrat, Amit Saha was arrested). Congress-just think when other party will come in power, what will happen to you and your people.

The anxity of CBI to file a closer report itself proves that CBI is working under influence. The deep relation between Rathore and polyticians was proved earlier. What was the need of Rathore approaching CBI senior officer to creat pressure long time back as revailed by one of the CBI officer(I dont remember the name) on News channal. This investigation is as fasle as THE WAY CBI INVESTIGATED THE 1984 HINDU-SIKH RIOT TO PROTECT THE CONGRESS LEADERS. The day is not far that people will stop thinking of beleiving CBI at all. ITS PITTY....!

Once again the top most investing body`s corrupt face is exposed same like Manu Sharma case. It is once again proved that Congress do modify the investigation when the crime is committed by their pet servants and culprits like Rathod. Een after so many uproar and judgement in court CBI has nullified all allegation against Rathod with the help and dictation by Congress. Indian judiciary and politics are once again ashamed. One of the darkest day in Indian judicial system and politics. Shame on CBI, Congress and Hariyana Ministry. it is once again proved that powerful people can modify each and everything in India even when people like Dr. Manmohan Singh is PM.
