Zee Media Bureau Patna: Toeing the party line, Janata Dal (United) leader, Narendra Singh on Monday termed BJP’s PM nominee Narendra Modi as a person who has lost his mental balance. Once an ally and now a fierce opponent, the JD(U) leader, lambasting Modi, said, "Think Modi has lost his mental balance, he is flying in the air daydreaming about becoming prime minister." Earlier this year, after the 17-year-old BJP-JD(U) alliance broke in the month of June, JD(U) and BJP both have never left a moment to take a jibe on each other. Narendra Modi, in his maiden rally after being anointed as BJP PM candidate in Haryana yesterday, while addressing a massive crowd had said, "It is the acme of shamelessness when a public representative says that people join Army to die. No leader, no political party would have humiliated (the forces) more than this...."
Notably, the JD(U) leader Narendra Singh had given a clean chit to Pakistan over the killings of Indian soldiers at the LoC. "I don`t believe that Pakistan is responsible for the incident (killing of five Indian soldiers by Pakistani Army on the LoC in Poonch district) on Tuesday," Singh, the Bihar Agriculture Minister had said. Throughout the day today JD(U) kept on hitting out at the BJP`s PM candidate Narendra Modi. "BJP will not gain from this decision (naming Narendra Modi as PM candidate...This will be proved by results of the 2014 elections," Kumar, who is senior JD(U) leader, told reporters. "There is a joy within the house (BJP) but not so among common people over the decision," Kumar, a known detractor of Modi and who was instrumental in JD(U) breaking away from BJP over Gujarat Chief Minister elevation, said. The Bihar Chief Minister empathised with "sulking" LK Advani. "The `Iron man` of BJP has been left to rust," Kumar said, emerging from `Janata Ke Darbar me Mukhya Mantri` programme at his residence.
