Shirdi: The second phase of Sai Ashram Project, providing affordable accommodation to as many as 5,000 devotees through dormitories, will be thrown open to public on July 18, marking `Guru Purnima` festival.

The second phase of the project, situated at Nimgaon-Korhale village, four kms away from the famous shrine, is spread on 7.96 hectares of area and comprises six buildings housing 192 dormitory halls, said Shirdi Saibaba Trust Executive Officer Kishore More in a statement issued here today.

Devotees will be provided accommodation at Rs 10 per bed per day, he said.

The first phase had already been thrown open to public.
Chennai-based devotee K V Ramni had donated Rs 110 crore towards construction of the two-phase Sai Ashram Project, which comprises as many tourist rest houses and collectively caters to around 15,000 devotees--including the second phase.

Under the first phase, 1,536 rooms are built, More said.

While charges for a non-air conditioned room are Rs 500 and for an air-conditioned room Rs 900 under the first phase, the second phase is primarily aimed at providing stay at cheaper rates.
