Jammu: Opposition PDP on Sunday accused the Omar Abdullah-led government of abusing the state apparatus, saying "calm created at gun-point" would prove "disastrous" for Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing a convention of district committee members of Kishtwar district, senior PDP leaders said the government was abusing the state apparatus to suppress aspirations of common masses.
This regime has indulged in adopting oppressive measures to gag voice of the people, former MP Sardar Trilok Singh Bajwa said.
"Calm created at gun point will prove disastrous for Jammu and Kashmir," he said.
Expressing concern over implementing the eight-point package announced by the Centre, PDP leaders said thousands of innocent youth were arrested after the announcement.
"Uninterrupted misuse of draconian methods by state government to stifle genuine voice of the masses has fuelled alienation among the people," party leader Thakur Balbir Singh alleged.
