Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Wednesday said the Centre has lost control over escalating prices of essential commodities and it is the unity among opposition parties on the issue that would pressurise the government to solve the problems.

"There is no control of the government over escalating prices of essential commodities... the unity among the opposition parties on the issue in parliament will put the UPA government under pressure and it will help solve people's problems," Kumar told reporters at the state hangar here.

Stating that the opposition had decided to raise the issue related to price rise in Parliament, Kumar said there was a good floor coordination established among the opposition in Parliament.

He alleged that the congress-led government has failed to rein in skyrocketing prices.

Kumar was replying to questions on the opposition raising the issue in Parliament.

When his attention was drawn to RJD supremo Lalu Prasad actively siding with the UPA government, Chief Minister said Prasad's RJD was a part of the UPA though the latter had not been accommodated in the Union Cabinet.

"Lalu ji is with UPA on all occasions as UPA has given him a big honour by giving its seat in the front row to him (Lalu) in Lok Sabha," Kumar remarked.
