Orissa police interrogates Maoist leader Bhagat

Orissa police on Thursday interrogated the most-wanted Maoist leader Bhagat, who surrendered before Andhra Pradesh police early this year.

Malkangiri (Orissa): Orissa police on Thursday
interrogated the most-wanted Maoist leader Bhagat, who
surrendered before Andhra Pradesh police early this year.

Bhagat, who was heading three "Dalams"- Poplu Dalam,
Kalimela Dalam in Orissa and Elabaram Dalam of Andhra Pradesh,
had surrendered with another woman cadre Sunita.
The duo fled from Maoist camp after the organisation
did not allow their love relationship. Both of them married
after surrendering before the police.

"We felt that there is lot of difference between what
they (Maoists) say and they do," Bhagat told reporters
here.

Unhappy over the party, they quit the outfit and
joined the mainstream, Malkangiri IIC Ramakrishna Pati said.
Bhagat had joined the rebels in 1997 at the age of 15
when he was a student of Class X. "I was attracted to Maoists
for their ideology along with dance and song," Pati said.

After interrogation, Andhra Pradesh police will take
him back, Pati said.
