New Delhi: At least 60 lakh ornamental pot
plants are being arranged for beautification of various venues
of the Commonwealth Games slated for October this year, the
Rajya Sabha was informed today.
"The Delhi Forests and Wildlife Department, the Delhi
Parks and Garden Society, the PWD and other civic agencies
are arranging the plants," Environment Minister Jairam Ramesh
said in a reply to a question.
Besides, plantations are also being done by them on
roadsides, central verges, roundabouts and other vacant areas
for the mega sports event, the Minister said.
