New Delhi: A whopping 1,127 cases registered
with CBI are pending investigation till 2009-end.
In reply to an RTI query, the CBI also said it has
registered over 1,100 new cases of corruption, crime and
forgery between January and December last year whereas trials
in about 10,000 other cases were underway in different courts
across the country.
The investigating agency filed 810 charge sheets and its
probe led to convictions in 437 cases during the period.
CBI registered a total of 1,118 cases in 2009, which is
127 more than 2008 and 9,586 cases were under trial, it said
in reply to an RTI query filed by advocate Vivek Garg.
