New Delhi: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Friday denied charges of large-scale corruption in the UPA government under him and said he maintained high standard of integrity in his conduct.

"I do not think there has been any explosion in corruption under my watch," Manmohan Singh said in an interview to a leading newspaper here.

"I have maintained a high standard of integrity in my conduct and I have endeavoured to raise the levels in the system as well."

Manmohan Singh has been accused of overlooking the CWG scam and the 2G scam.

The Prime Minister complimented the media for its criticism, but suggested it should "exercise some balance and retain a sense of proportion in the coverage of issues".

He said the various laws introduced by the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government like Right to Information, the Public Procurement Bill, the Whistleblower's Bill, the Lokpal Bill and the Judicial Accountability Bill will raise the standards of integrity at all levels of government.

"The Right to Information is a landmark act, for which the Congress party and its president (Sonia Gandhi) will be remembered for generations," said Manmohan Singh.

"It is the information flowing out as a result of this act which is bringing a lot of corruption to light, which would otherwise have been hidden."

The Prime Minister said all these measures reflected the Congress party's will to tackle corruption.

On Pakistan the PM said, “Looking forward to visiting Pakistan. No dates have been finalised. There have to be suitable outcomes for such a visit.”

Oh, Really? Mr PM, you want us to believe there`s no explosion of corruption under your leadership? If I may suggest, kindly don`t boast of your own high standard of Integrity - It`s something trivial, very much expected and very basic quality for your position. Instead, you must realise that you are on a seat to control and ensure integrity across the nation. You are also shying away from putting PM under Lokpal, Want to retain investigating agency of Lokpal under you. And yet boast of Integrity!!! Isn`t it absurd?

See the comments by the communal BJP / RSS against the very respected supereconomist we are all very very lucky to have as PM. Such absurd comments inflict so much pain upon him. He is a saving grace compared to the rotten communal PM we had previously. Friends give the communal forces a hard punch in the face and re-elect the Congress with absolute majority in 2014. Let us pledge to work towards this goal everyday of our lives from today onwards

Our fearless PM sees nothing, hears nothing, does nothing. He says corruption does not happen under his watch. he is right he is there at back and call of Sonia mafia. Now SC has given clean chit to Mayawati. All scamers are out free. PM, Judicial system, CBI everthing in the name of Justice is a joke. Aam Admi would be rotting in prison for a trival crime, while crooked politician who are looting, raping, murdering, scaming are free to carry out more crimes under this PM.

PV Narasimba Rao forgotten man P. V. Narasimba Rao was the best prime minister and legend of India but he has been forgotten. The man who led India’s transformation was unlikely pragmatist. Mr. Rao was a career politician he who had no political constituency of his own. Dr. Manmohan Singh has forgotten P. V. Narasimba Rao. He was who financially reformed India. Dr. Singh accidentally was the finance minister at that time, like instruments of Mr. Rao, total credit has been gone to Dr. Singh, and he is a bureaucrat he hasn`t a capacity to take any decision on his own, he always waiting for instruction from higher level. If Mr. Singh has courage, than give the finance ministry to any professional who did MBA in the field of finance & Marketing from any I. I. M. No one in the congress is capable for holding finance ministry including Mr. Singh. All the four-lain road project was instituted by Mr. Rao, he made the detailed plan of the road he advertised in the news paper (Times of India) for Built Operate and Transfer (BOT) but unfortunately he lost the election, Mr. Atal Bihari Vajpayee became prime minister has credited only for he made the financial arrangement for that project.

A deaf & dumb PM, really unfortunate for India that with open eyes he cant see. Really he made history that he is not a weak prime minister, but most corrupt Prime minster ever in India. He is an anti nationalist & should not be allowed to rule any more on behalf of corrupt M P`s of any party supporting him. Rally a Dhritrashtra we heard but really observed, it can happen, incredible India.
