Patna: There has been a perceptible change
in Bihar in the past few years and its people want to excel
academically, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said Monday.

``Human development is a priority of my government and
efforts are being made to restore the intellectual glory of
the state by reviving academic institutes, including the
Nalanda University,`` he said inaugurating an international
book fair organised by National Book Trust (NBT) here.

The government had allocated funds and set up an
authority for the purpose of reviving the libraries like the
Khuda Baksh library here for use by students, he said.

He urged publishers to host more book fairs at regular
intervals as there was growing demand for books and literary
materials in Bihar.

Kumar also released four anthologies of poems published
by NBT on the occasion.
