PLA in PoK: India conveys concern to Beijing Beijing/New Delhi: India on Friday conveyed its concerns to China over its presence in Pak-occupied Kashmir (PoK) and its activities in that region.

The Indian move came in the wake of reports of presence of about 11,000 Chinese troops in Jammu and Kashmir's Gilgit-Baltistan region held by Pakistan.

The Indian concerns over Chinese "activity and presence" were conveyed by Ambassador to China S Jaishankar during a meeting with their vice minister for foreign affairs Zhang Zhijun in Beijing on Friday, according to officials at the Indian embassy.

Jaishankar also conveyed India's concerns over the presence of Peoples' Liberation Army (PLA) troops in the region. However, China had on Thursday rejected reports that its troops were in Gilgit region in northern Kashmir.

Jaishankar returned to Beijing on Thursday from Delhi where he had briefed the the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) on the developments regarding China. The CCS chaired by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had discussed the matter on Tuesday.

Following the US news reports of PLA presence in PoK, India had said it would independently verify the matter which it dubbed as "serious, if true".

"If true, it would be a matter of serious concern and we would do all that is necessary to ensure safety and security of the nation," external affairs ministry spokesman Vishnu Prakash had said on Monday when asked to comment on reports in ' The New York Times about the influx of an estimated 7,000 to 11,000 PLA soldiers in Gilgit-Baltistan region.

``beggers cannot be choosers``. our ministers have always very religiously maintained that india as a nation can only beg (express concern about which nobody including usa, china&pakistan, give a damn about). long are not days when our arseanals would also start rottening the way the food grains have begun to.
a very big note of thanks & appreciation to the dr.manmohan singh, i apologise madam sonia, led govt for a wonderful perfomance which has multipiled the misery of the common man & that of the enire nation.

india should allow us to have a base in arunachal pradesh. india should also allow un to have a base in j&k. india should allow free passage of goods and abolish visa requirements for sri lankans and singaporeans. india should setup a joint-cooperation forum with the south-east asian countries and come up with a framework together with the us. india should get involved on the world stage. we can no longer remain in hiding and follow the cold-war era status-quo. we need to stand up and look beyond our comfort zone. this is the way to effectively counter china`s influence on the world stage. we need to advertise ourselves and our strong civil service system and values. india needs to come out of its shell and look beyond south asia and the middle east.

we should prepare our selves for defense. india s military power should be enough to fight with china.we must concentrate on upgrading military power keeping aside political differences.bharatiya janata party can play vital role in building the nation. the party should support the govt.so that, selfish small parties could not take disadvantage of the democracy.if the bjp does not act ,people should compel them.

there is no point in india protesting unless backed by concrete action on the ground. china is systamatically occupying the pok and is bent upon building roads/bridges connecting gilgit and we would be silent watchers. their policy of stapled visa is atrocious and what india has done to counter that. they should also give stapled visas for all the chinese visiting india as a mark of protest.
