New Delhi: The Delhi Police on Saturday told a city court that they were probing all aspects to ascertain as to how a knife reached two Tihar jail inmates for an alleged plot to kill the arrested former CWG Organising Committee officials inside the prison.

In a status report filed before Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Sunil Chaudhary, the inquiry officer (IO) said he had visited the central jail number 4 and put certain specific queries to the jail authorities and officials of CRPF and the Tamil Nadu Special Police.

Besides the Delhi Police, the CRPF and the Tamil Nadu Special Police are deployed at the high security prison.

The IO said he has also sought responses from the authorities on various incidents of scuffle inside the jail.

"A letter was written to Deputy Commandant, CRPF, central jail to inform about the places where CRPF jawans were deployed in the prison," the police said in their report.

The police are likely to file a fresh status report on Saturday in accordance with the court's earlier direction to apprise it of their progress in the probe.

The police, in their earlier report, had said there was no evidence to support the claim made by Tihar inmates Nishant and Amit that they were supplied with a knife to kill two of the three former CWG OC officials T S Darbari, M Jayachandran and Sanjay Mahendroo inside the jail. The former CWG OC officials are now out on bail.
