PM arrives on two day visit to Kerala

The PM will dedicate to the nation the new International terminal at the Thiruvananthapuram airport before returning to New Delhi.

Kochi: Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh, arrived in Kochi on Thursday night
on a two-day visit to Kerala.

He was received at the Naval airport by Kerala Governor R S
Gavai, Chief minister V S Achutanandan and union ministers,
Mullapally ramachandran, E Ahamed, K V Thomas, G K Vasan and K
C venugopal among others.

The prime minister later drove to Taj Malabar for an overnight
stay.

Dr Singh will be inaugurating the Vallarpadam
International Container Transhipment Terminal on Friday morning
before leaving for Thiruvananthapuram.

At the state capital, the prime minister will be present
the Janapeeth award to renowned poet O N V Kurup. Later he will inaugurate a 3-day Kerala Development Congress being organised by the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of
Development Studies sponsored by KPCC.

On Feb 12, the Prime minister will inaugurate the Centenary
celebrations of leading Malayalam daily `Kerala Kaumudi`. He
will also dedicate to the nation the new International
terminal at the Thiruvananthapuram airport before returning to
New Delhi.
